About This Product
The quoted charge sensitivity shows that the instrument suits measuring the charge carried by a short pulse as well as very low currents. The 500 ohm version doubles the charge sensitivity of the 100 ohm version, at a higher critical damping resistance.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the 100 ohm and 500 ohm versions?
The 500 ohm version is more sensitive: 600 mm per microcoulomb against 300, and 1400 mm per microamp against 1000. Its critical damping resistance is 3500 ohm, compared with 2000 ohm. Both have a 12 second time period.
How is the coil suspended?
The coil and its mirror hang between a long suspension at the top and a spring at the bottom, both made of a special alloy. Levelling screws are provided to balance the coil.
