About This Product
The training programme runs from detecting signals with an analog receiver and transmitting a signal from a function generator to sending sound over the fibre: sound is turned into an electric signal and then optical pulses, and converted back again. It also includes Tyndall's experiment and optical data transmission between PCs, for which two personal computers are needed. Colleges and TVET centres in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Latvia, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Comoros can source the Fibre Optics Kit from Educational Lab Equipments.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the kit need a computer?
Only for one exercise: optical transmission between PCs, which needs two personal computers. The other experiments use the kit's own transmitter, receiver and generator units.
Which sensor examples are covered?
The programme shows optical sensors for level, force and photogate applications.
